Live Review: PREMIERE: EAST AV3 arrive in style with new video for 'Le Labo'

20 February 2020 | 10:02 am | Emma Jones

Adelaide trio EAST AV3 are on the rise, and their latest single is all the reason you need to make sure on board before there's no room left. Titled 'Le Labo', its a bouncy banger dripping in confidence and swagger which doubles as a warning shot to put everyone else on notice that they're well and truly on the up. Doubling down with the release of their single, the group are also sharing their debut video which we're thrilled to be premiering on Purple Sneakers today.

Bright and colourful, EAST AV3 are making a statement with 'Le Labo'. Following in the same vein as BROCKHAMPTON or even DAS RASCIST, the guys go toe to toe with each other as they trade bars like its no big deal. Infectious from the very start, it's a slice of lively alternative rap that stays with you long after its finished. The accompanying visuals only add to this, showing the guys physically embodying just how fun 'Le Labo' is, from asking life's hardest questions like if you would rather boil to death or freeze in a bath of ice to rapping over a very decent lunch spread, these visuals take EAST AV3's latest single to a new level.

Dubbed an act to watch this year by triple J Unearthed, all you need is one listen to 'Le Labo' to know why. Over the last six months, the group have gone from strength to strength like supporting Tkay Maidza and Baker Boy and taking out the Unearthed comp to open Adelaide's Listen In festival last year. Now with this latest release, the guys level up and go from emerging local group to stars on the rise. In a scene that is constantly saturated with rappers vying for the spotlight and buying into quick trends or phases, EAST AV3 deliver a point of difference from the rest and its this that will continue to carry them into what will surely be an exciting year ahead.
