Is there new music from M.I.A on the way?

The start of a new year is always so exciting, as we start to see more and more artists get ready to share the fruits of their labour in the coming months. One such artist is M.I.A, who has taken to Twitter overnight to share a mysterious trailer which we're hoping means new music.

Fresh from receiving an MBE (Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) from Prince William, the artist shared the trailer along with the caption "NEW DECADE EXPLORING NEW PLATFORM JAN 31ST." She also further hinted at whatever this all means on Instagram, writing:

"NEW DECADE

NEW MIA

EXPLORING

PLANETS AND PLATFORMS

JOIN ME

JAN 31ST 2020"

We last heard from M.I.A in 2016 when she released her last album, AIM. She has also since released an award-winning documentary about her life, MATANGI/MAYA/M.I.A.
