#1 Dads announce new album and share new single, 'Freedom Fighter'

#1 Dads has announced a new album is on the way, and has shared a brand new single to accompany the big news. Titled 'Freedom Fighter', it's the second new taste of new album Golden Repair, due out March 6th via Pieater.

We first heard new music from #1 Dads late last year with 'Another Day', which also saw the band join the Falls Festival run and put on two special shows at Melbourne's Howler. Now, with 'Freedom Fighter' and it's delightful video (directed by Iansek), we can catch another glimpse into the humble, intimate story-telling of frontman Tom Iansek, and what a glorious glimpse it is. Iansek dives deep into how complex life can be, but gives you space to think about what he's saying thanks to the song's peaceful, indie-pop melody. Rather than looking at life with a fearful lens, 'Freedom Fighter' is joyously curious about it, eager to see what surprises and mysteries life holds for everyone and positively optimistic about how strange things can be.

On the new single, Iansek said, "An interesting part of this for me is change, which is constantly happening, but often it happens so incrementally that life appears static, but of course this isn’t so."

"We get lulled into a sense of permanency until suddenly something that was once there now no longer is, hence “even if I have it now, doesn’t mean I’ll have it always”... and if you’re waiting for the tides to turn your way, then you must then learn patience."
