Live Review: PREMIERE: Billy Fox shares a behind the scenes look at the creation of his 'LUNG' EP

31 May 2019 | 12:02 pm | Caitlin Medcalf

BILLY FOX is arguably one of the hardest working musicians in Sydney. When he's not busy creating music of his own, he's running a creative collective he recently started up called Common Good. The collective aims to bring together like-minded creatives for bi-monthly events and more. He's also been busy with shows, supporting the likes of Glass AnimalsSahara BeckHarts and more.

This month, he celebrated the release of his second EP, LUNG. The seven-track affair takes us through his beautifully defined sound, kicking off with gospel-burner 'Echo', a fiery number defined by Fox's delicate, falsetto vocal.

The record traverses through a myriad of sounds and concepts: 'Be Like This For A While' wholly embodying the ethereality of artists like Bon Iver, while 'Let's Be Honest' allows for his crooner-esque vocals to shine alongside the crisp production. 'Millions' leans more into his upbeat, electronic influences, while 'Blistered' is a beautifully sorrowful track, his voice filled with longing.

There's a beautiful balance on the record between electronic flourishes and live instrumentation, something that you can hear Fox has worked incredibly hard to achieve. And in saying that, we're very stoked to be premiering a clip Fox and his team have put together detailing the creation of the record. Check it out below:
