Live Review: Stacie Fields' debut 'Good Loving' will have you dancing in seconds

Sydney's STACIE FIELDS has been hard at work securing gigs around town, bringing her infectious ear for tech and house to pubs, clubs and every kind of musical hub she possibly can. She's also been hard at work honing in on her own style of production, something that she's given us the first taste of in recent days.

Her debut is called 'Good Loving', and it's out via Basement Sound. The track is currently sitting pretty in the top ten of the ARIA club charts, her keen ear for house fast making its way to dancefloors across the city.

'Good Loving' has every ingredient that's essential to making an effective house track. In the opening seconds, we're immediately thrown into a cascading of crisp house percussion, topped off with a slow-burning vocal that works its way up at around the one minute mark. It's at this moment that the key's come in too.

She gives us enough to draw us in, and then firmly takes it away, making us lean our ear in and listen out for what's coming next. A raspy saxophone sample blasts its way to the fore, commanding the melody of this one, and forcing the keys to take the back seat. It's melodic house at its best, that saxophone peering down atop the shuffling house percussion, making for a dance track that's near impossible to sit still to.

Stacie Fields has been blazing a trail set by her intense ambition and keen ear for commanding dancefloors at all stages of the night. 'Good Loving' marks the next phase in her career, and is one we're keen to hear more of.
