Melbourne producer Wilhelmina McRae AKA BARBIE GAULT is no stranger to how it's done here in Australia. She's been chipping away at her craft for a long time now, kicking off her music career with her previous project Zellow that saw her crafting careful melodies and chill, downtempo electronic sounds.

She rode this project out, eventually realising her particular sound would better suit a new one, and now she comes to us today as Barbie Gault.

Taking influence from a broad range of genres spanning industrial house, the crunchiness that is acid house and the careful sounds of EBM, Barbie Gault sees her hone in on more of a producer/DJ approach, injecting a broad range of sounds into her sets, and in the process, showcasing her diverse musical knowledge.

She's put together a 20 minute mini-mix for Purple Sneakers on FBi Radio, punching in as many diverse cuts as she can to show that she's one hell of a DJ too. With a sonic palate that allows her to accurately and seamlessly showcase the effervescence of Overmono, the chaotic industrial sounds of Cowboy Rhythm Box and the tinny electro of Blotter Trax, you're in for an absolute treat.

She's headed to Europe this June, so get acquainted with her before she undoubtdly blows the heck up.
