Live Review: Golden Features shares enormous new single, 'Always'

Our favourite masked electronic maestro GOLDEN FEATURES returns today with a new single and more details about his forthcoming album. Titled 'Always', it unsurprisingly bangs from whoa to go, further showcasing Golden Features' versatility and blatant refusal to be pigeonholed.

'Always' is the opening track of his long-awaited debut album, SECT, and is carried by a heavy, driving beat that is relentless as it pulses its way along. Sinister synths and dark hooks keep things ominous as the track slowly but surely thumps its way to an explosion, with Golden Features injecting just a little bit of light in amongst the darkness.

With just the right amount of aggression to keep you on your toes, this song is as impactful as they come in terms of album openers. Speaking of the song's history, the producer (real name Tom Stell) said, "'Always' is the oldest track off the album. The demo was written in 2015 and it turned out to be the cornerstone of SECT’s whole aesthetic; Heavy, aggressive with a classic song structure underpinning it.” Judging from this, we had all better strap ourselves in tight as SECT is shaping up to be quite the ride.
