Live Review: Let Woodes take you on a journey with her short but sweet mix

16 March 2018 | 3:50 pm | Max Lewis

Melbourne artist Woodes has treated us to a short but sweet guest mix, featuring local talent like Elkkle to greats like James Blake.

We're no strangers to WOODES here at Purple Sneakers. From her  early days, collaborating with fellow Melbournian Elkkle to her stunning debut EP last year, we've adored her unique and lush sound that evolves with every track. Fast forward to 2018, and she's released her stunning new EP, Golden Hour, and just wrapped up a tour as well.

Dropped in February, Golden Hour is her best work yet. Tracks like 'Origami' are minimal yet constantly bustling with sounds, from sampled vocals to garbled synths and pounding percussion. Cuts like 'Dots' and 'Run For it' fill every inch of space with ethereal vocals and gorgeous production that doesn't let up for  a second. With an experimental palette, she crafts stunning electro-pop you could listen to for hours at a time and still find something new.

Woodes has treated us to a short but oh-so sweet guest mix that is bursting with good tunes. From Elkkle to James Blake, she makes the most of her tracklist to showcase the best of the best in chill electronic music. You can cop the mix below, or listen to it live on our very own radio show every Saturday from 5-6PM - 94.5 if you're in Sydney, or on demand wherever you please at fbiradio.com
