Output Festival is set to bring the goods this weekend
This Saturday is the first ever Output Festival, an event that sees MOTORIK and UNDR CTRL bringing together Australia’s best in techno, disco, world and house music. This boutique festival is bound to be an experience like no other, set to take place across 3 stages and a silent disco, on Goat Island in the middle of Sydney Harbour.
Along with a stellar line up, the festival promises a complementary ferry running to and from the island all day, market stalls, engaging atmosphere and impressive stage set ups. Big names like MALL GRAB, OPTIMO (UK) and CC:DISCO! are primed to get the crowds moving, but with such a loaded line up of local talent we thought we’d help you out and tell you about some of our favs. Here’s our picks for who we know is going to crush it at Output Festival.
We picked him as one of our Spotlight Artists a while back, and it’s clear why. Love Deluxe has a knack for bringing together nostalgic sampling with fresh house flavours in a way that’s totally addictive. If you’re a fan of 80’s funk, niche throwbacks and upbeat rhythms, make sure you’re front and centre for his set!
After years of DJing and now delving into the world of production, Andy Garvey is well known for serving brooding techno and otherworldy house in her sets. She runs Pure Space on FBi Radio and Mix Up on Triple J every week, so you know she’s going to be bringing plenty of deep cuts and hopefully a few of her own unreleased goodies too.
MADE IN PARIS
DJ, producer and label head at Upon Access; Made in Paris pretty much does it all. The prolific musician, who seems to have a new edit or track out every month, is set to deliver her brand of dark, melodic techno to the Motorik Stage. Her taste for unique and bold tech house and techno will have you boogying away under the setting sun.
This lad has been proving himself all year that he’s one to watch, coming out of the woodwork with huge, high-energy techno tracks. Willaris K closed our 11th Bday Party and turned it into a sweaty mosh pit, so you know his live set is bound to be an intense experience that’s not to be missed.
Lovers of upbeat rhythms, niche crate dug jams and percussive beats probably already know of Luen Jacobs. She’s a Sydney DJ, party thrower behind Taxx and a voice on Triple J and FBi. After catching our attention a few years back curating mixtapes through Hand Games, she’s grown into a DJ who will take you on a journey with her taste for energetic house and funky world flavours.
