PREMIERE: MEZKO take Body Type’s ‘264’ to the underground in new remix
If you’re a fan of BODY TYPE, you’re probably in love with their sweet harmonies, bad ass attitude, and intoxicatingly lo-fi and scuzzy shoegaze songs. From the jangly ‘264’ to their debut sing-along tune, ‘Ludlow’, the Sydney four-piece make chilled out music to sway to. Enter MEZKO, who take their Ladytron inspirations and give it a modern twist with their own unique flair. Fellow Sydneysiders, both artists will be performing this weekend at Volumes Festival, and they’ve teamed up for the electrified remix of your dreams.
MEZKO have taken on Body Type‘s ‘264’, turning it into a deep, growling number that’s electric and hypnotic. With its trademark MEZKO beat, jagged vocal chops, pulsing synths and an amplified drone in the vocal lead, MEZKO have taken the once droning lo-fi track and plunged it to the depths of an underground club. Transforming ‘264’ into a stomping, pounding dance track, they douse the track in their signature dark sounds to make something instantly captivating. It commands you to move.
With Body Type releasing a new song just this week, and MEZKO continuing an impressive 2017 run, both bands are just about everywhere these days, playing festivals across the country and growing their already loyal fanbases. With Volumes now just two sleeps away, this weekend is shaping up to be something truly special, so jump on the last minute tickets now!
