New Zealand born / Sydney based electro pop artist,  MAYA PAYNE has just busted out a new single, entitled 'Something We Once Knew'.

The singer and producer has a pretty rad self-made success story, independently releasing her debut EP, The Lucky Ones, through her label Rolley Records last year, which peaked in the NZ charts. The EP's leading single, 'If Only', subsequently took off and hit number one on Spotify's viral charts after catching the attention of actress Chloe Grace Moretz.

Following on from a support slot for Charlie XCX on the New Zealand leg of her tour, Maya Payne moved to Sydney with a solid collection of unreleased material in her a swag, looking to share her new music with a vaster audience.

'Something We Once Knew' presents itself as a slow building number, dusting a sweet, delicate pop melody atop of the track’s minimalistic instrumental foundations, before hitting hard into a boisterous chorus. As artistic vocal layers pair swimmingly with the song's bold and infectious lead hook, this highly polished production ultimately shows that Maya is here to roll with the punches and break into bigger leagues.

Maya Payne brings Taylor Swift’s style of endearingly sweet vocals and songwriting prowess to a new domain of electronic music, as ‘Something We Once Knew’ juxtaposes her own expressive vocals with the grandeur of the song's uplifting production, bestowing this unique creation that is both welcomely familiar and distinctively unique.

Maya Payne is currently working on her second EP, so we can expect more new music from this up-and-comer before the year’s end.
