Live Review: 'Open Your Eyes' and ears for London Topaz and Dena Amy

LONDON TOPAZ and DENA AMY have teamed up to deliver a gentle and mystifying track. 'Your Eyes' is the pair's first collaboration for Stoney Roads Records.

Both London Topaz and Dena Amy have taken very interesting paths to become the artists they are. London Topaz's song 'Let You Go' featuring JANEVA garnered astounding attention from digital music communities. And we here at Purple Sneakers donned him one of our Artists To Watch in 2017. Not much is known about the man behind the music. Only that the music really does speak for itself.

Dena Amy's career trajectory is a little less of a secret. An established television actress, she has a face that you will more than likely recognise. But it is her vocals that are really beginning to shine. She has already leant her flavour to RUFUS' 'Hypnotized', and has been delivering bouncing DJ sets everywhere from Sydney's Chinese Laundry to Splendour In The Grass.

'Your Eyes' is a dreamy song that really basks in its own subtlety.  The track brings forward a tinkering dance beat, and then reclines it into a cool quiet. The vocals of Dena Amy are certainly the star of the song, but the production work provides a soft and precise backing that is difficult to pull off. A match made in dance heaven, these two vibe off each other without ever overshadowing one another, and the results have us wanting more and more. Let's hope this isn't the last!
