Wonder trio GAUCI have done a pretty delicious remix of HATCHIE’s debut single release, ‘Try’, which was unveiled as part of Volumes 2017 in Sydney last weekend.

We’re still pretty new to the magical music musings of both Hatchie and Gauci, but this utterly pumping rework is way beyond what we could have anticipated.

Gauci is comprised of Felix Lush and siblings Antonia and David Gauci, who have their own projects as Leftenent and Las Vagueness, as well as some audio engineering and production casually thrown in between. Obviously well versed in the music and various corners of its industry, Gauci appear to be on the brink of making some big waves as they continue to share their virtuosity in the Australian scene.

Gauci’s style of electronic dance production is a very stark contrast to the warm, shoegaze vibes of Hatchie’s debut release. One could say it is almost like chalk and cheese, but somehow they've made it work and created this down-right banger of a tune.

If it weren’t for Hatchie’s (aka Harriette Pilbeam) distinctive vocals, this remix would be near unrecognisable as the swaying rays of sunshine that we know ‘Try’ to be. Gauci’s rework of the tune shines through as a testament to their top-form production, while also showcasing how magnificently Hatchie’s vocals juxtapose against the harder pulse of dancefloor vibes.

Hopefully we’ll be seeing a collaboration on the horizon, but in the meantime this number is sure to get you through your week!
