Melbourne producer Christopher Port gives us a taste of his upcoming EP with 'Nobody Chose You', a sombre yet grimy take on garage dance.

Melbourne producer Christopher Port has unveiled his new single 'Nobody Chose You', giving listeners the first taste of his third EP Everything In Quotes "DARK", due out digitally on October 20th.

Starting out drumming for local acts like Airling and Big ScaryPort has since released two EPs under his own name, showcasing a new twist on garage dance music. He's produced tracks for Annie Bass and Buoy, and played at Splendour in the Grass and Volumes, as well as a special DJ set at our own birthday party this year for VIVID Sydney.

'Nobody Chose You' takes a more subdued approach to garage dance, with heavily affected analogue synths building up a luscious atmosphere, before crackling sampled vocals and grimy percussion add a lo-fi counterpoint. It's reminiscent of The Cyclist yet possesses its own retro charm that gels nicely with the more modern elements.
