ANTONY & CLEOPATRA blend soulful house with techno textures on 'Dust' and with the help of Australian artist EGO, explore a life of partying with new video

Fresh off the back of a hot collab with MOTEZ, international duo ANTONY & CLEOPATRA have just released a new music video for their most recent single. They blend soulful house with techno textures on 'Dust', a futuristic track about the toll of being the life of the party. For the video, they teamed up with Australian visual artist EGO, to bring his collage style of animation to their future funk track.

Building off a 4 chord pattern and catchy chorus, these elements repeat and grow with intensity. The heady bass line, contrasting voices of Alexander Burnett (Antony) against Anita Blay (Cleopatra) and the undulating, arpeggiating build to the layered finale all make for a solid dance tune.

In the video, Ego takes us though an abstract tunnel of images, of celebrities from all eras cohesive in Antony & Cleopatra's favoured black and white. Starting out with tender pictures of famous friends and lovers, the clip slowly devolves into flurry of paparazzi pics and mugshots against a background of chains and champagne.

These images of Hollywood excess work in the track's favour, with the song having the makings of a late night banger and detailing the life of a constant partier. "As the song is all about the opposite of moderation, Ego brought our idea to life," the duo said of the video. "Beginning with a playful romantic feel and then slowly descending into a paranoid 4 AM bender."

With this video Antony & Cleopatra have been able to translate their sound, a pastiche of many musical eras, into a succinct visual with this collage of images from across the ages.
