Live Review: Cassius Select offers up some of his favourite tunes

Techno talent CASSIUS SELECT is set to join SK SIMEON and FRIENDSHIPS tonight as part of the latest instalment of Red Bull Sound Select, with FBi Radio's Amelia Jenner being the mastermind behind this round. The Sydney-via-Toronto producer has been on the cutting edge of dance music for some time now, and after a slew of releases through labels like DJ HAUS' UTTU imprint, this show should be one for the history books.

We've been a fan of Cassius Select, real name Lavurn Lee, for some time now, and wanted to get to know him a bit better, so he's put together a playlist of some of his favourite tracks to help us get acquainted before he takes to the stage tonight, and takes everyone on the dancefloor for a ride.

DJ NATE - FREE - first footwork track i ever heard. definitely heard the future in there too but i was a few years too late on it.

WADE ROBSON - MICHAEL JACKSON TYPE BEAT - its all in the name. its an accurate caricature.

FATEH - NAIYO JAAN DE - punjabi Canadian mc from Toronto. lots of hometown love for the man. bilingual switch ups are great.

SUBOI - DOI - Vietnamese rap sounds hard as fuck. Roughly translate to 'live'.

FRENCHIE B - TIPS - Korean Danish son got bars. There's beautiful new intricacies in English rap, I encourage all to explore.

J-SOUL - WESTEND/WESTON - this a Westend anthem. one from a whole number of young MCs in Toronto tearing up the city. Don't ask me about Drake, do your research.
