Live Review: PREMIERE: Sink your teeth into tomtom and May Lyn's track 'Bubble Up'

Super sticky and absolutely sassy: you are going to want to sink your teeth into tomtom and May Lyn's latest collaboration 'Bubble Up'.

Sticky and sassy, you are going to want to sink your teeth into TOMTOM and MAY LYN's new collaboration, 'Bubble Up'.

Cool is undeniably the best way to describe this song. A bouncing dance beat kicks in from the very beginning, and bops its way through the entire song. Throw in some distortion effects on the vocals, and they've made themselves one easy, entrancing jam.

Both artists' vocals are featured on 'Bubble Up', and it makes for a really cool push-pull effect. tomtom is truncated and rap-like, whereas May Lyn offers a more elongated and even apathetic sound, sounding almost other-worldly over the tinkering beat.

tomtom's production work on this track is crisp and and bang-on trend. Not surprisingly, considering the collaborations he now has under his belt. Buzzing his way around Brisbane, he has already produced for the likes of Miss Blanks, Jaycee and Apeman.

'Bubble Up' is not the first number that the musicians have collaborated on. Back in 2015, the pair worked on a rap mix for 'Young Again', May Lyn's debut single. And since her debut, May Lyn has garnered herself a whole heap of online and industry attention, including taking out one of the winning spots for the triple J Unearthed x NIDA competition. Her next EP, Vessel, will be out in June.

This track comes out via All G Records, a label out of Brisbane that was founded by tomtom himself. We seriously can't get enough of these two, both separately and together, so we're just praying there is plenty more where this came from!
