Live Review: Let Stephane 1993 inject your ears with some 'Power'

Newcastle techno don STEPHANE 1993 has unveiled another absolute 'Power' banger this week as part of MOTORIK's 5th birthday compilation. Appropriately premiered by 44,100Hz Social Club, there's a simmering electricity about 'Power'. Since the release of his EP Holivision, we've been positively itching for some fresh material, and he most definitely delivered with this one. There's a real maturity about Stephane 1993's latest track, whilst less amped up, 'Power' is infused with some seriously dank acid vibes.

Atmospheric, and even a touch eery, 'Power' represents Stephane's evolution as an artist. The track opens with some electrified percussive sounds, before the 4 to the floor beat drops. The track is woven together by a gossamer of wonky electronica and global sounding rhythms. He has the unique ability to drive a banging tech baseline whilst building up an experimental electronic soundscape. The broken percussion and cowbell add complexity and richness throughout 'Power.'

It feels as though Stephane 1993's production style has really evolved to a sophisticated level. He is definitely starting to experiment a lot more with interesting and wonky electronic sounds and we're here for it. We cannot wait to feel those 7 minutes of slow burning 'Power' on the dance floor...
