Live Review: PREMIERE: Chymes will make you think and feel with their 'Bloom' video

Sydney duo CHYMES returned with an absolute beauty earlier this year in their latest single, 'Bloom'. Truly a step up for the duo, the track is hypnotic and captivating, and saw the pair really start to come into their own with their beautiful electronic sounds. Now, they're set to double down on this feat with an equally captivating new video for 'Bloom', and it's a fittingly stunning release.

Serving as an eerie exploration into how two people can become inextricably intertwined, the clip shows how this might also sometimes come at the detriment of one, if not both, involved. Honing in on the opening lyric, "Bloom out of my chest," this clip takes a look at the idea that you're investing so much of your energy to help someone else, that they're growing because of the energy you're giving to them. A familiar notion for what I'm sure many of us have experienced over time, the clip really brings home this experience in a truly stunning way.

This is a clip that will stick with you, from the beautifully shot frames to the albeit slightly disturbing scenes. It's provocative, and at times cathartic, and really illustrates that Chymes are attempting to not fit in with the rest of the electronic landscape, but instead are carving out a space entirely their own - and succeeding. It's a special watch, and we can't wait to see what they do next.
