Live Review: Let Nutrition enchant you with his remix of Ruby Haunt's 'Freeway Crush'

Much like what fruit and veggies will give you, producer NUTRITION is going to do wonders for your body. Splitting his time between Byron Bay and Melbourne - two of Australia's most exciting and prolific music hubs - he has a way of handling electronic music that isn't often see by his peers.

His approach to his music is understated and subtle, yet incredibly meticulous as one listen can demonstrate that every last detail has been given the utmost attention during the creative process. And, to no-one's surprise, he takes the exact same approach when reworking the music of others as is evidenced by his ethereal remix of Ruby Haunt's tune 'Freeway Crush.'

While the original is still down tempo and has a very Angelo Badalamenti-inspired feel to it, Nutrition's take slows it down even more so but not without eliminating that integral groove that makes the song so infectious.

This is an exploration of underground Australian music and Nutrition opening himself up to new fans and new genres. The remix very heavily explores low-key house and bass but doesn't take away from the original tune at all - it still has that glorious, cinematic synth climax at the end and it still has the gorgeous, lush vocals that Ruby Haunt instilled in the first place.
