Kyle Watson and Dena Amy are anything but weak in their powerful new collab
Producer Kyle Watson has collaborated with singer Dena Amy to create the wonderfully dark house track ‘Weaker’. From soft vocals to dark, wubbing synths over a steady 4/4 house beat, this track is sure to impress.
The track starts off with some fresh drums before slowly introducing the vocals of Dena Amy into the mix. The vocal performance given is soft and dripping with reverb, and the multiple layers and the echo effects give it a real presence to Dena Amy really stand out. Kyle Watson further employs Amy‘s voice, as he splices and chops it up to add just that little bit more depth to the tune. Subtle but captivating, Dena Amy‘s voice is the perfect fit for this track.
Bassy throughout, Watson hones in on the powerful synths that create some of the richest basslines I’ve heard in a long time – without resorting to absolute madness. There’s a level of reservation in Kyle’s production; nothing is done to a level of excess. While other producers ramp everything up to eleven, Kyle Watson shows maturity and opts for the “less is more” approach with some rich and subtle production.
Here’s hoping this isn’t the last we’ve heard of these two together, or of this song as a whole. Practically begging for some remix treatment, we’re expecting this one to go far.
