Live Review: Listen to Fossa Beat's track 'Maybe Later' right now

Coming out of Melbourne, FOSSA BEATS is laying down intricate and melancholic vibes. His latest track 'Maybe Later' is compassionate and earnest in its approach.

The introduction is gripping: striking chords are layered over the subtle but unmistakable sound of waves crashing. Ambient and gentle, 'Maybe Later' begins as if it were to rock you to sleep. But then, it will start to rock your world. Snapping sounds and the warm and hankering vocal of Roman Austin honeys its way into the track.

The track strips back, and what pierces through are the vocals, now slightly augmented and all the more emotional. Collaborating with singer Roman Austin, Fossa Beats clearly knew the vibe he was looking for, and definitely found it in Austin's performance. "Hold me, don't let me go..." the words come out more spoken than they are sang. 'Maybe Later' churns a difficult situation into easy listening.

Signed to Good Enuff, Fossa Beats really made 2016 his own; this includes dropping a stinging mix for none other than Diplo & Friends a few months back. 'Maybe Later' is the first release from the musician for the year, and it is hinting at a more minimal and fine-tuned direction. We can't wait.
