Queens rapper Dai Burger drops a sweet verse on Fortunes.' new rework of their huge single '501's', kicking their smooth R'n'B up a notch.

FORTUNES. have dropped a new edit of their huge track from last year, ‘501’s’, adding Queens rapper Dai Burger to the mix. It’s the first offering from their upcoming project for 2017, and the fat verse kicks their smooth R’n’B up a gear.

With Fortunes. now calling Melbourne home, you can hear the twang in Conor McCabe’s accent that nods to their New Zealand heritage. With ‘501’s’ already overflowing with sultry vibes, the sexual tension finds a release in Dai Burger’s rhymes. Her ‘90s boom bap flow contrasts beautifully with the boys’ velvety vocals, and her forthright lyrics pull no punches, overflowing with confidence.

"Initially, the plan was to have a feature verse on the 501's beat,” said producer Barnaby Matthews. “After we got Dai's verse back we all decided it was so dope we wanted to put a new spin on it to compliment her verse, but still keep the core of the original.”

Dai echoed that sentiment. "I actually heard the instrumental beat before I heard the full track. Once I heard that voice!? I knew it was my duty and obligation to slay that shit. Fun yet soulful track, I can't wait to bump this in my car like a boss.”

Both the original and the remix of ‘501’s’ are out now through Future Classic.
