FRACTURES has been long-time earner of our support here at Purple Sneakers, and his latest offering only affirms that we're making the right choices. With his highly anticipated debut record Still Here fast approaching - Feb 10 to be precise - 'Lowcast' is our third, and perhaps strongest, cut from the record we've heard yet.

A running theme throughout the upcoming album is that it explores what Fractures felt in the aftermath of a devastating neck injury, as well as his songwriting in isolation when he was creating the album in the Mornington Peninsula, which is just off the East Coast of Australia. 'Lowcast' reflects those feelings entirely from the opening seconds to its climactic finish.

The entire song progresses with intimate layers, ambient guitar strums and subtle percussion, before arriving at a punchy and powerful finale. The sonic journey this tune takes aligns perfectly with the message it is aiming to showcase - it's about the process we take to stretch beyond a negative headspace and emerge rebuilt, refreshed and ready for brightness. Written and produced by Fractures, aka Mark Zito, and mixed by Wayne Connolly (of Paper Kites' notoriety), this emotive gem is a sure fire to way to realign yourself, take a breath and keep on pushing.
