Live Review: Listen as Ella Vos takes you 'Down In Flames' with her new track

ELLA VOS has come back with a new track that sounds light on the outside but is very dark on the inside. The singer and producer knows how to perfectly present her lyrics in such a way that you could spend hours getting lost in her music and be completely shocked when you realise its meaning. Her new track, 'Down In Flames', covers some very new territory and reveals just how talented she really is.

The song begins with airy vocals floating over atmospheric synths, before a hard beat begins to pound through it. Ella's vocals glide over each note like silk on skin and you feel completely at ease as the song washes over you. 'Down In Flames' initially feels sweet; innocent to the ears and refreshing to the senses. You have a sense of calm whilst you listen and nothing seems to waver that at any point.

When you listen to it a second time, though, you listen closely to the lyrics and notice the story that's lying beneath it. She coos, "If we’re going down, we’re going down in flames," over and over and soon you catch onto the story of an unstable relationship. The story comes as a surprise after your first listen that felt so comfortable - which may have, in fact, been a part of the listening experience. With these relationships, you feel comfortable in the beginning and then realise that something's a little off, and you similarly feel like this the more you listen to 'Down In Flames'.

Ella Vos is extremely talented and it's clear that she thinks a lot about how her fans take in her music. She's destined for great things so watch this space so see how she evolves.
