Musica Copa wrap up yet another fantastic tournament
MUSICA COPA once again wrapped up another hugely successful event last week – its fourth since its inception. Kicking off under 35C temperatures, and after a massive week at EMC, the Australian music community didn’t hesitate to come together again for a bit of friendly fire in the name of charity.
With LUCKY ENTERTAINMENT taking out the top prize and delivering a whooping $7000 to their charity, REACH FOUNDATION, whilst runners up UNIVERSAL MUSIC took home $3000 for MUSICIANS MAKING A DIFFERENCE (MMAD), the Marrickville Kikoff Centre saw a veritable who’s who in the 400-strong turnout of both players and spectators. On the field were the likes of members of Flight Facilities, The Delta Riggs, Set Mo and I Know Leopard alongside the likes of What So Not, Montaigne, Nina Las Vegas, Swick, Montaigne, Danny Clayton, Motorik Vibe Council, Third Floor and Klue. On the sidelines, guests included Amsterdam’s Night Mayor MIRIK MILAN whilst the decks were held down thanks to FBi Click guest selectors Luen, Body Promise, Never Slept, Honey, Bare Necessities, GIRLIRL, Katia, Soft Hands, Sandro Dallarmi, Lauren Hansom and Sports.
The music industry turned out in force, with teams from movers and shakers all over the country such as Audiopaxx, BMG, Falcona, FBi Radio, Future Classic, Groovin the Moo, I OH YOU, inthemix, Lucky Ent, Ministry of Sound x Mustard, MTV Australia, Mushroom Group, Pandora, Pedestrian, Red Bull Music Academy, Select Music, Sony Music, Sweat It Out x MAKER Agency, UNDR Ctrl, Universal Music and WME.
All in all, the day was one to remember, and thanks to sponsors, door donations and more, the charity comp is proud to announce they’ve accumulated a whopping $40,000 since its first event for charities, and will be back for more come 2017! Start your training now!
