Live Review: Kormak shows how he's a musical 'Chameleon' by remixing PNAU

Kormak is a Sydney-based producer who has been absolutely killing it on the local scene.

PNAU are legendary Australian producers and they've just released an amazing remix package for their new track 'Chameleon'. The duo have enlisted some great artists to include in the remix package including KORMAK, who has completely transformed the song into a house masterpiece!

Kormak is a Sydney-based producer who has been absolutely killing it on the local scene. His music has a fun atmosphere to it, and it's this quality that makes him a perfect candidate to remix 'Chameleon'.

The original track, if you haven't heard it yet, is a summer playlist staple. A mix of vibrant synths with light vocals and a deep beat. The track is clearly influenced by traditional African tribal music, but is transformed into a modern blend of the entrancing vocals and energetic melodies.

Kormak transforms 'Chameleon' completely by injecting his own unique sound into the piece, making it probably more suited to the club than a pool party. The heavy beat slowly draws you into the track and after a slight drop, the light vocals burst out and add a bit of light to the otherwise darker remix. As it continues, the remix seems to rise up into a more digitised area and soon you're surrounded by technological samples that wriggle around the melody.

Kormak knows how to transform a track and has definitely created a version of 'Chameleon' we probably wouldn't have been able to experience if he wasn't involved. Another fantastic piece of music from a very talented producer.
