Live Review: Hare Squead take over Dua Lipa's 'Blow Your Mind'

HARE SQUEAD are a trio of rappers from Ireland, and at the end of what has been a mammoth year for the threesome, they've now released a remix of the track 'Blow Your Mind' by DUA LIPA.

Changing up the beat to be less electronic by having the main synths that appear in the hook not appear in the remix, Hare Squead have made this track their own. The vocals from the hook and refrain from Dua Lipa remain, but otherwise, most of the track is fairly fresh with the trio providing their own spin on the elements that they took.

The trio's style of rapping has a wacky approach to it, with all three of them being ultra expressive with their voices and flow. There's also some female vocals in the backing track to make it feel more like the original, as if Dua Lipa is rapping along with them.

The production is heavy and keeps a bouncy feel going throughout the entire track. Heavy bass drums, along with rolling background synths, carry most of the production, but really this track has a heavy focus on the melodies of the vocal performances.

Overall Hare Squead have done a great job with this remix, taking the building blocks of the original to make something entirely new and fresh. They've absolutely killed it this year, so it's only fitting they end it with a bang. We can't wait to see what they do next.
