Live Review: Welcome to the future, with Andy Ward and 'Drinks&Money'

Since KANYE we've been seeing more and more experimentation with Auto-Tune as an instrument and not just vocal aid. A young Brisbane creative has also found the formula. Presenting ANDY WARD and his new piece of experimental electronica 'Drinks&Money'.

The young multi-media maniac has put together a futuristic collection of sounds to create a most filthy but at times enlightening display of what the future of electronica may just sound like.

Filled with layering techniques and alterations that make time travel not seem so far away, Ward has built an open passage between technology and music so that he can freely roam and pull inspiration from a whole new dimension of auditory amazement.

The classically trained violinist showing no troubles understanding sound at its rawest form. He gives to us a juicy taste of the next generation of audio enjoyment through heavily auto-tuned vocals. There's such a fine line between too much and just enough auto-tune. While some struggle with finding that balance, Ward proceeds to walk along the line as if it was a tightrope and he an acrobat. Without venturing too far out of musical reach, the young Brisbane artist has managed to pluck the future out of the tools he has to create music.

Astonished with what Ward can produce on a track, and blown away by their visual counterparts. I'm equally excited to see what the young Brisbane mind can project in his live performances. With a fully immersive multi-media live show in the works. Ward also promises visual art installations to exist harmoniously with his music.

A line-up boasting the likes of Ward will soon become an untapped commodity. My advice? Get out there and see them ASAP! There is going to be a electronic music revolution, and artists like Ward are going to be at the forefront of it all.  Don't miss out, go and immerse yourself in Andy Ward's new piece 'Drinks&Money'.
