Sam Weston’s ‘Don’t Save Face’ scores an eccentric remix

South-London’s ROSS FROM FRIENDS not only has a penchant for incredible pseudonyms, but also intricate musicianship and punchy beats. Remixing SAM WESTON’s track ‘Don’t Save Face’, the tune is an eight-minute soundscape of charm.

Originally a thirteen-minute epic from Australian producer Sam Weston, Ross From Friends has shortened and sharpened the track, whilst ensuring that the original’s clever coolness remains intact.

The entirety of the song is used to explore the balance between refinery and ampleness. There are moments that go completely quiet, and although they are only short, their stark contrast to the rest of the song’s fullness and warmth is attention grabbing. The track is a galaxy of sound and samples.

Ross From Friend’s remix is a great way to get your tummies rumbling for more Sam Weston. The original ‘Don’t Save Face’ will feature on the artist’s forthcoming EP set to be released digitally in early December. Split into two parts, the Never Been In Love EP will surely be a journey of complex experimentation and hearty beats.

If next month feels too far away, Sam Weston and his team have got you covered. The vinyl is available for preorder right now, and will be released on the 25th of November.
