Live Review: Indian Summer team up with Lastlings for one of their biggest tracks yet

11 November 2016 | 9:46 am | Ted Dwyer

Indian Summer's new single 'Love Like This (feat. Lastlings)' is a total earworm, and it'll be the main event in your summer playlist.

INDIAN SUMMER are well and truly back on the map with their new track, ‘Love Like This’. It features Gold Coast based brother/sister duo Lastlings and its release comes partway through their Real Time Engagement tour, which will see them bouncing up and down the east coast before a brief sojourn to Perth, then back to the east.

It’s a track they’ve been working on in various forms over the last two years, and it wasn't until they caught Lastlings on the radio that they found the missing piece they needed.

“From the moment Amy's vocals hit we knew they’d be perfect for this song… it turned out the band were friends of friends - a crazy coincidence since we live in different cities.”

It’s truly a match made in heaven, with swirling highs, pulsing synths, and driving drums, but the soaring vocals from Lastlings are the true feature. Amy Dowdle is still in her teens, but her powerful voice, sampled heavily in the drop, elevates ‘Love Like This’ to new heights.

That being said, this track would be nowhere without the flawless base laid by Indian Summer. They have outdone themselves with an arrangement that leaves nothing to chance, never lagging or feeling rushed.

This is melodic electronic pop at its finest, a throbbing earworm sure to be the soundtrack to your summer.
