808Ink released their third, full length LP earlier this month entitled 'Hungry' and it does more than just satisfy your appetite for grimy hip-hop.

London duo 808Ink released their third full length LP earlier this month entitled 'Hungry'. Thirteen tracks filled with intense back-beats and in yo face lyrics it does more than just satisfy your appetite for grimy hip-hop.

Consisting of producer 808 Charmer who began as a live drummer for M.I.A and Tinie Tempah and rapper Mumblez, the pair formed after Charmer witnessed Mumblez insane talent on a video shoot and from there the collaboration was born.

Making music from their garage and shooting all accompanying visuals with their creative director Anubi$ in London's South East, the pair have created a whole new world of alternative rap. The incorporation of rolling synth beats and hints of electronica that float underneath Mumblez' smooth AF lyrical infusions makes it a genre of its own. A shining example of their insane production and my personal pick from the album 'I Just Wanna' provides you with a foot tapping rendition of old school hip-hop and ultra modern electronic.

The track begins with a compilation of rolling synths, a combination so insane you'll be satisfied from the first ten seconds and all before Mumblez repetitive lyrics of "I just wanna" introduce a soothing undertone of attitude to the track.

The London lads are not only ahead of the game, they're winning it with their incorporation of all the best and most addictive aspects of rap and electronic, creating a sound that will appease any Run The Jewels or Kaytranada fan. 'I Just Wanna' only scratches the surface of their enticing, genre crossing soundscape, so pickup your headphones and delve into a whole new world of eccentric rap.
