Good Manners name their top five Melbourne party crews

Good Manners know how to throw a good party.

The Melbourne based record label, artist management and publicity company has been presenting some of the most exciting live events in the country and show no signs of slowing down. This year sees Good Manners taking the reigns of the Official Melbourne Music Week Closing Party again, having curated an exceptional lineup of electronic talent. November 19 will see the likes of HVOB, Seekae, Rainbow Chan, HABITS, Marcus Whale and more perform across three unique stages at Victoria’s State Library.

In our constant search for the best musical events, we asked the faces behind Good Manners who their top local party crews are. This is what they had to say…

Heads with Tales
Melbourne-based booking/touring/management agency Heads with Tales have developed a reputation for bringing out some of the world’s most unique tastemakers, having recently toured the likes of Bradley Zero, Al Dobson Jr., Soichi Terada and Max Graef. On the local front, they represent the likes of Good Manners favourites Mall Grab, Prequel, Nali and Lucy Cliche, who have all graced our events in the past.

A relatively new face on the scene, Heavy have been throwing parties around Melbourne for the past 12 months or so. A bunch of friends attempting to unify like-minded people through music and art, their events have seen the likes of Mall Grab, András Fox, Harvey Sutherland & Habits all play to big crowds in a range of venues throughout Melbourne.

Having just celebrated their first birthday, electronic label Soothsayer have quickly become known for their huge parties. They recently announcing a partnership with V Movement that will see them host the likes of Kate Miller, Francis Inferno Orchestra and Fantastic Man over the coming months, as well as adding to their growing roster of artists that include the likes of Dro Carey, ALTA and Sam Weston.

Possibly Melbourne’s favourite boutique festival, Paradise has championed countless local acts over its short existence, including the likes of Kirin J Calinan, Oscar Key Sung, Client Liaison and many more. They’ve also branched out into stand-alone shows recently, and have put together an incredible party for their MMW show (alongside Smooch Records, Waving at Trains and Aarght Records) this Saturday 12 November.

Wondercore Island

We love these guys so much, we’ve decided to join forces with them for ‘Good Island’ Festival in February next year. A roster that includes (in some capacity) Hiatus Kaiyote, Oscar Key Sung, Jaala, Corin and many more incredible acts, they also have a keen eye when it comes to event curation. Known for pairing interesting music with interesting art or spaces, Wondercore are a growing powerhouse in the Australian musical landscape.
