Live Review: Your new fave indie band Pure Moods release new track Elisa Lam

6 October 2016 | 11:22 am | Julia Insolia

Incredibly sweet sound and oh so Melbourne, Pure Moods return with a beautiful new song with a tragic twist.

Melbourne bred indie lords PURE MOODS have released their newest track titled 'Elisa Lam', a sweet melodic slice of indie heaven.  I know you're probably thinking to yourself "Elisa Lam, where have I heard that name?" Well, that's because the track was written about the the strange disappearance of 21 year old Canadian student that went missing in 2013 and was later found afloat a water tank in L.A.

As morbid as this sounds, the band's Adam Madric explains, "I became a little obsessed with the phenomenon that was the disappearance of Elisa Lam, so I wrote a song about it. I have always wondered if it is somehow insensitive or sadistic to write a song about the tragic death of an innocent tourist, but my intentions were pure. It’s one of my favourites on the record too. You can kinda bang your head to the break, which is cool."

The track itself has this incredibly sweet sound and is oh so Melbourne. It's that kind of beachy indie pop-rock that you want to listen to as the sun is setting on a beautiful summer's day. Take a listen for yourself:
