Live Review: 'Give In' to this delicious new collab with Xavier Dunn and Airling

27 October 2016 | 8:42 am | Jackson Langford

Xavier Dunn shows a true rise to from in this gorgeous, summery collab with Airling titled "Give In". Truly a match made in harmony.

It's been a pretty big year for XAVIER DUNN to say the least. Between supporting the likes of Broods and Gordi, collaborating with Paces and Set Mo and accumulating 10 million streams on Spotify for his unique, stirring covers of hip-hop tunes, 2016 has been his year for the taking - and he ain't done yet.

He has just dropped a gorgeous collaboration with AIRLING titled 'Give In' and that's exactly what you'll do when you listen to it. The lush production is bright and summery - add to your summer playlists now, fam! - but the real underlying gem of this tune is the amazing vocal interplay between Dunn and Airling. They're quick to switch up whose voice is taking centre stage, but not in a way that makes it sound like they're competing for the spotlight. It's really a match made in heaven.

Dunn has an unshakeable awareness of what needs to be happening and when it needs to happen, and he knows when to hold back. This is probably due to the fact that he is well versed in plenty of instruments - piano, guitar, drums and double bass - which explains why his songwriting is so diverse. He shaped his craft in Sydney, dropping remixes for other Sydney-based artists, through which he earned a love for collaboration. That love for collaborating on really dope stuff is evidenced in full with this gorgeous, ready-for-summer banger.
