Live Review: PREMIERE: Annie Bass' 'While I'm Waiting' gets a beautiful re-work

Annie Bass’ (Annabel Weston) ‘While I’m Waiting’ gets a beautiful re-work from LA producer Sweatson Klank and we are so excited to bring you the very first listen today!

The track was released earlier this year and gained some serious love on the Aussie airwaves for its layering vocals and delicate synths. She’s well and truly trumped her debut scoring support acts for Elizabeth Rose, Banoffee and securing a spot at our own King Street Crawl party this weekend!

The Sydney talent has also collaborated with Adelaide producer Oisima, featuring on his debut album Nicaragua Nights. It was from this collaboration that Bass came to know LA producer Sweatson Klank and boom! You get a beautiful lovechild track from the two.

Both the original track and the re-work hold gentle, soothing samples that drift you off to a wonderland of sounds. Bass’ vocal range is also something to comment on; her control guides you on a chilling journey, leaving you with lingering goose bumps.

Annie said of the track, "Collaborating is easily one of my favourite things about releasing music, especially with artists I admire so much. It's pretty exciting to hear someone else's take on the track and Sweatson nailed this DJ friendly edit.”

The re-work has kept the sweetness of the original song but added just enough beat to leave you anticipating what Bass has to offer next. The beats skip along feeling almost garage-y at times, whilst guitars echo and synths twinkle, swelling and blooming perfectly with Bass' Her debut EP is soon to be released later this year, so thankfully we wont be waiting long!
