Mark Pritchard teams up with the legendary Thom York on his new track/video 'Beautiful People'

Mark Pritchard teams up with the legendary Thom Yorke and director Michal Marczak on his new video 'Beautiful People'

This video truly is a step above the rest. The sweeping landscapes, 3D effects and overall composition make it such a beauty to look at. Each shot looks like it could be a painting, with effects used to manipulate the landscape whilst Thom Yorke's head is projected onto a weird looking bubble. The visuals range from beautiful to stunning from start to finish.

Michal Marczak says "The idea was to illustrate the songs underlying emotions by way of a mysterious character’s slow, non-linear, cinematic journey through an out-of-this-world landscape, chiming with the album artwork. The eerie atmosphere developed by gradually and only partially revealing certain elements, leaving it to the viewer to put the final pieces together. The video was shot in the Izera mountains of Poland and Thom was filmed in his hometown in England with a 3D scanner. We later replaced the on set actors head with an organic feeling particle simulation of Thom’s performance.”

The song itself has a very emotional feeling to it. The vocals by Thom Yorke almost blend in with the extremely soft spoken and mellow production - many layers of sound play at once but none of them are overpowering. It's music that makes an impact, and conveys feelings in a way that it really stays with you. Mark Pritchard truly is a wizard when it comes to his music, and this latest effort just brings that message home once again.
