Live Review: LUCIANBLOMKAMP takes Lower Spectrum's 'Decompose' to another level

9 September 2016 | 10:32 am | Lauren Payne

After going on a national tour together recently, LUCIANBLOMKAMP has injected some of his own style into LOWER SPECTRUM's "Decompose".

Melbourne-based producer LUCIANBLOMKAMP is known for his dark mixes that emit emotions other electronic producers dare not to touch. His own tracks tell gut-wrenching stories whilst tugging at your heart strings using sharp synths and airy melodies. LUCIANBLOMKAMP has injected his signature sound into Lower Spectrum's track 'Decompose' and the resulting sound is grand.

'Decompose' originally has a dark tone, filled with very eerie synths that seem to surround the more digital-sounding notes like a thick fog. The track moves smoothly with a sharp hit of pounding synths breaking up the track into smaller fractions. Lower Spectrum's track sounds similar to something LUCIANBLOMKAMP would have created on his own, so to have him remix the track raises all sorts of questions about what direction he chose to take it into.

The remix seems to be a lot more atmospheric than the original. The fog-like synths now blend into a melody that melts across the beat. LUCIANBLOMKAMP has brightened up the track and it feels a lot lighter than the original, something you wouldn't have expected from the producer at all.

'Decompose' now feels like you're floating rather than drowning and LUCIANBLOMKAMP has confirmed yet again that he is one of the most talented producers in the industry today.
