Live Review: Trip out to these tracks by our selector, NYNE

30 August 2016 | 12:05 pm | Hannah Galvin

Every good trip is enhanced by a moving soundtrack, so allow Melbourne artist, NYNE to fill your ears with her vibey selection.

Nyne May 2016

Pack your brains in a suitcase and head over to the big fry-up, for Melbourne producer, NYNE, has gifted us an emporium of feel-good tunes to soundtrack a decent trip.

Following her huge collaboration with Sevn Thomas of Drake's OVO collective, 'Can't Sleep Now', NYNE has since revealed, 'Bad Trip'. Produced by fellow Melbourne buddy, Chiefs, the pensive dancehall tune reflects on an uneasy situation that would preferably be pigeonholed as a fictional scenario caused by a chemical imbalance to the brain.

Where there is reflection, there is refraction, so with the unfortunate lyrical storyline of, 'Bad Trip' comes a jovial playlist of songs you'll want to get high to. Thanks to our selector, NYNE, we've got nine of them, with a brief blurb as to why this talented lady recommends each track.

Ramriddlz — Bodmon (Prod. RJF & Sevn Thomas)

Extremely well produced, with vocals that instantly relax you. Bodmon - nothing else needs to be said! Vibe out…

Roy Woods — Gwan Big Up Urself

You can't help but try to dance when you hear this, catchy as hell.

NYNE — Bad Trip ( Prod. CHIEFS )

Whoever wrote this is probably really good looking! Hopefully it helps you have a good trip.

The Weeknd — Pass Dat (The Weeknd Remix)

Synths & bass that just get stuck in your head, I absolutely love these two artists together. Don't be greedy, sharing is caring!

OB OBRIEN - 2 ON / THOTFUL ft. Drake

I love the original Tinashe version but both OB O’brien & Drake brought their A game on this one. Is this a full on sing along or?

Allday — Sides Ft. NYNE

Biased vibes! Best Aussie rap song out right now. I remember making the original basic beat & hook to this and then to hear the finished mixed mastered version was insane, Allday's verses are so smart and way too catchy.

Big Sean — Sanctified

I've never been high listening to any of these tracks but I can imagine this would sound dope! I adore the samples they used and just love Big Sean.

Schoolboy Q — THat Part ft. Kanye West

This instrumental may scare you, creepy keys and synths that just pull you in. That part cause Kanye needs to appear on this playlist!

Sevn Thomas — Can't Sleep Alone (ft. NYNE)

Listening to this song high would probably sound like watching fucking Fantasia. Shout out to Sevn Thomas who killed the production!
