HANNAH PEEL is known for both her solo work, and work with The Magnetic North, but right now we need to talk about her solo work. That would be her latest song ‘All That Matters’ and her soon-to-be-released second album, Awake But Always Dreaming.

This track has earned itself the description of “electric dream pop”, which is pretty on point. It starts off with this kind of funky electro harp kind of like the old dreamlike sounds you used to hear as the windows were doing their thing on Play School. Hannah Peel also has a pretty dreamy voice. Hailing from Northern Ireland you can some sort of folky or traditional Celtic feelings from it, but it also suits this electronic infused track perfectly.

You could approach ‘All That Matters' in one of two ways. One is in a fairy costume, dancing around in a beautiful green field. The other could I guess be some kind of tragic, but beautiful Romeo and Juliet kind of scene. Peel after all has said she wrote this track as a bittersweet mantra for someone who she was close to. There is certainly some very sad elements to the lyrics, and strings that jump in towards the end of the track.
