Live Review: Cleopold's Songs for the Driving Range

25 August 2016 | 9:06 am | Emma Jones

Cleopold has already seen some great success so to get to know him a little better he gave us a playlist of his best driving tunes.

Last year, Cleopold collaborated with Miami Horror and supported Chet Faker on his national Australian tour, playing at some of the country's most iconic venues like the Sydney Opera House Forecourt and Melbourne's Sidney Myer Music Bowl - all before he actually released an official record.

Fast forward six months and we were gifted with Altitude + Oxygen, Cleopold's EP that combines his penchant for left-field electronica and his stellar voice. Now, he's two dates into a quick jaunt around Aus himself, with one final date remaining - Adelaide on August 19th.

To get to know him a little better before he well and truly takes off, we asked Cleopold to give us a Soundcloud Wrap of his favourite songs for the driving range. With an ultimate mix of slow, relaxing jams to help with those long hours behind the wheel (probably on tour no doubt), this playlist will have you settling in with ease.

Szymon - Floods

This song is pretty chill. I can't quite understand what he's saying, but I like it.

Francis & The Lights - Thank You

I like this track because it sounds like it's recorded on an iPhone.

Cam O'bi - Loti's Dreamland

The artists caption says it all... "What it sounded like in the womb before I was born. In the land where babies await birth."

Hailu Mergia & Dahlak Band - Wede Harer Guzo

Lalalalala ... best lyrics ever.

Klaus Wunderlich - Chirpy, Chirpy, Cheep, Cheep

Silk Rhodes - Pains

Great listening if ya taking five.

Chet Faker - In-Between

How it might feel to be stuck in a blizzard.

Noname - Reality Check (Ft. Eryn Allen Kane & Akenya)

This track rules and the bassline is everything.

Nosaj Thing - Light #3 (Gerry Read Remix)

Drums

Saito - 無題 (instrumental short ver.)

I could loop this for days
