Plastic World Volume 1

AlbaThomas WilliamsTuff ShermGLCassius Select… These are all names you mightn’t of ever had the pleasure of knowing if it weren’t for local tastemakers, Plastic World.

Ran by former Future Classic dude, James McInnes, and Astral People‘s, Vic Edirisinghe, the boys are committed to giving, “the world firsts on local bests“, that is, pushing the names of these acts, without boundaries, on an international level; despite the consequences the pair may face along the way. With an incredibly keen eye for electronic metrics, their current roster exclaims strong artistry, with each forward-thinking musician present offering something a little different from their peer.

Where they would usually release material on wax, Plastic World have just announced details of their first ever digital compilation. An accumulation of unreleased tunes from a bout of talented, Australian artists, the 16-track collection is a summation of Plastic World‘s three-year trajectory, as well as showcasing just a snippet of our [thriving] underground electronic music scene. By offering their utmost services to such artists in order to promote & support them on a scale of enormity, the wide-eyed Plastic World team are totally committed to enabling the potential of these talents, as depicted in the compilation.

Featuring magic from Sampa The GreatBODY CORPHugo Frederick and Thomas William, the release cradles both friends and family of the label, and also celebrates the debut single from most recent signing, The Posse (which is now available to stream and download for free).

Plastic World‘s Volume 1 is available for preorder via their Bandcamp, and is due for release on Thursday, 18th August. Support local talent!
