Live Review: Waza's 'Rocks and Bones' is far from typical

Sydney’s most ambitious beat maker Waza has just premiered single 'Rocks and Bones' featuring the vocal work of Aquila Young.

Ambitious Sydney beat maker WAZA has just premiered his latest single, 'Rocks and Bones', featuring the vocal work of Aquila Young.

'Rocks and Bones' is interesting in it's use of sound production as there are a lot of weird noises within the song that give it an atypical vibe. The constant bleep and bloops sound like they are coming from a robot; there are distance vocal noises from a man; these sounds make the track stand out a lot more than other tracks. Waza did a great job on production, the track flows smoothly and utilises the odd sounds he added in well.

The vocals provided by Aquila Young fit well along with the track, she gives a great performance throughout the track that remains very emotive especially during the hook.

This track is enjoyable to listen to and it has a feeling that's isn't really chill out music or a club banger, it's music that just feels good to listen to and I appreciate that.

'Rocks and Bones' is just a taste of Waza’s upcoming LP, Crooked Jaw, slated for release in 2016.
