Australia is known for claiming ownership of any talented Kiwi, so STAY AT HOME SON is no exception. He’s released his debut self-titled EP, along with the superb track ‘Tired’ by way of proving his worth as a claimed Aussie.

Given the name change from Jesse Martin-Allen to Stay At Home Son, it’s seems likely someone wasn’t fond of him crossing over to good old Australia. He’s now based in Wollongong though, so we’ve hardly stolen him, he made the choice. His debut EP looks at the social anxieties that come hand in hand with emerging from the cocoon of adolescence, something we can all relate to whether we like to admit it or not.

Created over the span of two years the genres and styles that have influenced Stay At Home Son range far and wide. Taking ‘Tired’ as an example, there is something distinctly classical about it, combined with brooding vocals and perfectly electronic percussion.

Comfortable with his own imperfections Stay At Home Son is a bit of a masterpiece because of the content Stay At Home Son feels from his own accomplishments. The EP is out now on Neat Lawn, the record label created by Japanese Wallpaper.
