Silentjay has teamed up with vocalist, Jace XL to present their unique strain of future leaning, retro rooted R&B on new mini album 'Sacrifice'.

Producer/instrumentalist SILENTJAY has teamed up with vocalist, JACEXL to present their unique strain of future leaning, retro rooted R&B on new debut mini album 'Sacrifice'.

The Melbourne duo have released seven wonderful R&B tracks which are smooth and dynamic. What can be expected from this album is a sort of throwback to classic R&B hits from the 90's, everything from the keys, bass, vocals and even the album cover art is reminiscent of that classic R&B sound with a bit of a modern twist.

The keyboard chords throughout the album are smooth as they ring out, drums are nice and punchy, the bass always grooves nicely, basically Silentjay did an amazing job with the production and instrumentation on this album because everything has this amazing warm sound to it and it all sounds great. Jace XL on the vocals does great as well, to add a dynamic feeling to the vocals there's a lot of extra vocal tracks going off in the background which vary from being ad libs, harmonies or doubles of the melody just to give the vocals some extra strength.

If your a fan of 90's R&B or any R&B for that matter you'll probably enjoy 'Scarifice' a lot as the project really hits the nail on the head when it comes to making R&B that's new but feels familiar enough to inspire nostalgia. I look forward to the next SilentJay x Jace XL project as this one was phenominal to listen to.
