Live Review: HOST keeps you on your toes with 'All Night Every Night'

21 March 2016 | 8:02 pm | Hannah Galvin

London / Berlin based duo, HOST have released the title track to their debut EP, All Night Every Night.

HOST

London / Berlin based residents, Ben Leverock and the mononymous Tommy met through a mate in East London as a means of sharing very similar musical insight. Rightly united, they began swapping ideas that would develop into their project, HOST. With an EP underway, they've pushed out its fervent title track, 'All Night Every Night'.

Ordering a range of hollow beats in bulk, the elasticised drop of rubbery balls bounce persistently for the entirety of, 'All Night Every Night'. An inundation met with analog synth melodies, reverberating vocals and a deep piano line, the rush of this textural plain is impulsive, causing a mountain of problems in the persona's quest.

Due to a lack of progression, it feels as though the persona is frustratingly striving to push forward, yet finds that they're running in an endless circle. Where there is no start, there isn't an end, thus demonstrating a perpetual complex.

Vigorous in its challenge, HOST's, 'All Night Every Night' will ambush your relaxed state, so you better be sure you can keep up!

HOST's, 'All Night Every Night' is the title track from their forthcoming debut EP, due for release on Friday, 8th April through Liberator Music. You can also pre-order the limited edition 12" vinyl through, B3SCI Records.
