Former Wu Lyf frontman Ellery James Roberts teams up Ebony Hoorn to drop their second official track as LUH. The track, ‘I&I, topped off with a daze like video that leads you in and out of a state of consciousness.

Standing for Lost Under Heaven, LUH., was formed back in 2012, but only officially released their first track in 2015. Hoorn is an audio-visual artist who has spent time cultivating her art in creative hubs about Europe such as Amsterdam. It’s a refreshing combination for a duo to place emphasis on the visual side of music, and something that audiences often crave from new music.

‘I&I’ was recorded on a remote island in East England. This environment encapsulates the concept of ‘I&I’ evoking thoughts of isolation. The track itself was produced by Björk associated producer The Haxan Cloak. Robert’s vocals are strained and almost jarring against the sound sounds of the track, creating feelings of confusion, although the lyrics suggest the possibility of growth and life.

The video features Hoorn and Florian Joahn, who co-directed with Hoorn. The colours are deep reds, and shadowy blacks. It’s almost like that lost land between sleeping and being awake, not quite knowing who you are going to be that day.
