MAYA PAYNE's new track called 'Breathe Again' is a pop song with a emphasis on her emotional vocals that are backed by some extremely well done production.

New Zealand singer MAYA PAYNE is coming out with a new track called 'Breathe Again' which is a pop song with an emphasis on her emotional vocals that are backed by some extremely well done production. There's plenty of dark lyricism on 'Breathe Again' with lines like "You make hell feel like home" matched with Maya's vocals delivery it makes for a deep emotional track but with enough pop elements to make it catchy. Maya Payne plays with the juxtaposition of having her emotive vocals placed onto production that borders between upbeat and melancholy, the dissonance between the beat and the vocal track is interesting and gives the track a more unique sound that makes it stand out from other pop songs.

Maya Payne had this to say about 'Breathe Again'- “Breathe Again is a dark track with periods of light. I wanted it to feel broody and portray the pain in the song. The chorus however is a wave of synths that show the promise of the future. This track is about wanting to revive a relationship that has gone wrong in some way and bring it back to life.”
