'Bomber' is the lead single on the upcoming EP Jacket by FORTUNES, a New Zealand born, Melbourne based R&B duo; and they manage to combine trap, electronic and R&B influence beautifully on this track.

The duo is comprised of producer Barnaby Matthews and vocalist Conor McCabe, who manage to find compatibility together on 'Bomber.' An impressive feat as the track production goes through several different styles, which are matched by the vocals of McCabe; who manages to keep up with the ever shifting production by Matthews.

'Bomber' starts off with trap production but dissolves over time into a more R&B track. This change is hinted to at the start with to the vocals being sung in a more R&B style instead of being rapped. The execution of the blending of styles is exceptional with the vocals managing to match both styles in it's own unique way.

As the track progresses it becomes somber and emotional as the production starts to switch on and off certain elements such as the trap drums in favor for more vocal harmonies and effects. In the final third the track drops all trap elements to go into a full R&B breakdown, which makes for a satisfying payoff that releases the increasing tension that the first and second act build.

Fortunes do a phenomenal job on this track, partly due to Grammy nominated engineer Andre Eremin working with them on this upcoming EP, but mostly due the talent that the duo have. They both have excellent synergy with each other which allows them to work on these more complex hybrid style songs rather than doing a traditional R&B track.

Jacket EP comes out on February 16th and features 'Bomber' as the lead single, check it out and be sure to support Fortunes because I'm sure they have more up their sleeves.
