Marcus Whale has jumped on remix duties for his labelmate, LUCIANBLOMKAMP and his track 'Comfort', and the results are spectacular.
If there is one thing MARCUS WHALE knows, it's good music. With each of his projects (Collarbones, Black Vanilla, Scissor Lock), he has demonstrated time and time again that he knows his way around a good song, and once again showed that off when he debuted his solo project, and now again with a remix of his labelmate LUCIANBLOMKAMP's 'Comfort'.
Thick synths are like a heavy fog over the formidable drums and LUCIANBLOMKAMP's ethereal vocals. The drums quicken as tension rises, forming a chaotic yet controlled bed that is pierced with synth jabs. From here, Whale takes it into almost industrial rave territory; it's hedonistic feel threatening to take over.
However, it's around the 2:30 mark that things get even wilder. Pounding heartbeat-like beats, even thicker synths, heavier industrial influence and that disconcerting vocal line from Lucian - Marcus Whale's take is enough to make you pretty uncomfortable, but enjoyable enough that you don't really mind at all.

2016 is shaping up to be an even bigger year for Whale, who is set to release his debut album on Good Manners mid-year. We picked him as an Artist to Watch for this year, and whilst we don't like tooting our own horn, we're yet to be wrong so take it from us - keep both eyes on Marcus Whale!
